This week’s library story time was all about pies. My boys heard the story I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie and for their activity they made pretend pumpkin pies. This activity is fun because your child gets to sprinkle real spices on his “pie”, so it smells like a real pie.
For this activity you will need a small paper plate, glue, pumpkin pie spices (sugar, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg), and a cut-out of a pie.
Have your child glue the pie to the paper plate. Next place glue on top of the pie. You can use any kind of glue, but glue sticks work fine for this project. Next have your child sprinkle the pumpkin pie spices on top of the glue. That’s it! A quick, fun activity to do when reading books about pies.
